A Prediction Method of Compacted Rock Hydraulic Permeability Based on the MGEMTIP Model

The permeability of the fluid-bearing rock is an important parameter for reservoir prediction. Kozeny-Carman (K-C) formulation based on electrical measurements effectively characterizes permeability-resistivity relationship rocks with a single mineral composition or high porosity. complex pore structure and compacted reservoirs affect induced polarization (IP) characteristics, indirectly limiting applicability conventional K-C models. theoretical chargeability modified generalized effective medium theory (MGEMTIP) model includes effects various conductive minerals. Due to disconnection assumption disturbed in MGEMTIP, there significant difference between measured chargeability, sensitive permeability. A semi-empirical prediction proposed MGEMTIP. Theoretically experimentally, MGEMTIP compared two Under condition that does not contain low-resistivity minerals, theoretically equivalent model. experimental results show this more suitable low-porosity low-permeability containing can be restricted same order magnitude. From perspective differences assumptions natural rocks, provides IP characteristics Combined geological information survey area, provide basis electromagnetic exploration.
